Jesus uses the images of salt and light to show how even a small amount of faith can make a big difference. Children’s faith can draw families back to the church, and the way we live our faith can speak more loudly than words.Isaiah reminds us that faith shows itself in feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, and clothing the poor. True faith sees God in others and responds with love; without that faith we risk becoming like salt that has lost its flavor.

A brief morning prayer for February 3, 2026, giving thanks for God’s unfailing love and care.Asking for calm hearts, sharpened focus, wisdom, patience in challenges, gratitude in blessings, and faith while waiting, that our words and actions reflect Christ and bring glory to God.

Last Sunday a retired priest of the Order of the Precious Blood, Fr. Joe, celebrated Mass and joined a parish family for lunch; they connected over his homemade banana nut bread and learned of his decades of service, multiple cancer survivals, and quiet life in a retirement home.At the Feast of the Presentation he offered a homily on the hidden years of Jesus and urged care for immigrants and civic engagement, a message that led some parishioners to leave early. This episode reflects on pastoral courage, obedience, and living the Beatitudes amid division.
